It is also the line where the sourcing decision is least like the rest of the confectionery available by the pallet, because before formats, quantities or routing come into it, a large share of buyers need one thing settled: what the gelatine is and what the pack is certified as. Gelatine origin and halal certification, answered properly

Gummy confectionery is set with gelatine, and gelatine has an animal origin that varies by production site. Standard German-origin Haribo production uses porcine gelatine. Haribo also runs separately certified halal production in Türkiye made with bovine gelatine, certified by recognised certification bodies and labelled accordingly, and that production supplies Türkiye and a number of Middle Eastern, Malaysian and South African listings. These are genuinely different products from different plants, not the same product with a different sticker.

What that means for you as a buyer is simple, and we will not blur it. We do not make a blanket claim that stock we hold is halal certified, because certification attaches to a specific production origin and a specific pack, not to a brand name or to a distributor. What we do is work the other way round: tell us the destination market, the channel you are listing into and whether your retail customer requires a certificate on file, and we will confirm in writing what production origin and what certification the stock actually available at that moment carries — before you commit to an order, not after the container is on the water. Artwork, language and destination labelling

The second variable is what is printed on the bag. How gummies behave in heat — a different problem from chocolate

Sugar confectionery does not bloom, so the temperature conversation that dominates the chocolate lines does not apply here in the same form. Gummies have their own failure mode: heat softens them, so pieces deform under load pressure, individual sweets fuse together inside the bag, and the sugar-sanded and fizzy coatings lose definition and migrate. The practical consequences are about stow and timing rather than refrigeration.
